CUOMO TAKES ON PENSION REFORM

Dear Lucas,

New Yorkers pay among the highest public pension costs in the country. And our pension system is riddled with fraud and abuse.

Andrew has been leading the fight against fraud and abuse in the NY pension system. He convicted political insiders who stole millions in a kickback scheme and stopped lawyers from illegally collecting pension benefits.

And Andrew Cuomo has introduced common-sense solutions to stop taxpayer dollars from going to waste.

Now, he needs your support to take the next step.

End Pension Fraud and Abuse

Andrew has consistently fought back against pension fraud and abuse.  In 2008, he championed the Government Accountability and Fraud Stop Act -- imposing new penalties for fraud and closing loopholes that opened our pension fund to abuse.

He also worked to create a new ethics standard, the Public Pension Fund Reform Code of Conduct, which has reformed public pension fund management across the nation.

Andrew's next step is to take on pension padding, where state employees manipulate their overtime to inflate their benefits.  If just 1% of last year's NY pension costs were padded, taxpayers would be on the hook for an additional $500 million over the next 20 years.

With Andrew's plan, New York can finally crack down on that kind of misconduct and strike a major blow against those who seek to make a dishonest dollar off NY taxpayers.

Sign on to support Andrew's plan to reform the NYS pension system.

It's going to take all of us raising our voices to end pension fraud and abuse, but if we work together, we can finally clean up Albany.

Thanks for stepping up,

Andrew Cuomo 2010
