Tonight, our first TV ad is hitting the airwaves!
We couldn't have gotten to this point without strong support from you and hundreds of thousands of friends across California and across the country.
Karl Rove, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and our right-wing opponents have already been up on the air with more than $1 million dollars in false and misleading attack ads against us.
Tonight, we're taking to the airwaves to tell our story. We need to fight back and set the record straight -- to talk about my record of fighting for veterans care, for afterschool programs, and for jobs, and my vision to make California a leader in clean energy.
I want to keep our new TV ad up for as long as possible to reach millions of voters. But media time in California is extremely expensive.
To keep our ads on the air, and fight back against the independent campaigns being waged against us, we need to build up our media fund.
We've set an internal deadline of Sunday at midnight -- and what we raise by then will help determine what we can afford to put on the air next week.
