Back in Tennessee there's an old saying: When you have the facts on your side, argue the facts. When you have the law on your side, argue the law. When you have neither, holler.
That pretty much defines the Republican opposition to President Obama's agenda for change and their strategy for the 2010 campaign -- a whole lot of hollering to obscure their real goal, which is to restore the very same policies followed for eight years by the Bush-Cheney White House -- and actually promising more of the same.
We cannot afford to let that happen.
The sobering truth is that the Republican Party has banked millions of dollars to fund attack ads against House Democrats -- and I'm imploring you to stand with President Obama and our Democrats in Congress at this critical time. Our September 30th FEC deadline is just days away and Democrats are $651,287 away from their goal to match the GOP's unprecedented fundraising effort. House Democrats must have a strong showing.
