AL FRANKEN IS MAD

emily's_list_email_banner_nyreblog_com_.gifDear Lucas,

In politics, nothing comes easy. Not my race for the Senate -- which I won by just a few hundred votes. Not historic health care and Wall Street reform legislation -- which we passed only after overcoming stubborn obstruction from Republicans. And certainly not the upcoming midterm elections -- which history tells us will be difficult for Democrats.

But that's no excuse. We can't let Republicans take our majorities and repeal the progress we've made. And that's why I support EMILY's List.

If you care about electing pro-choice Democratic women then you need to support EMILY's List, too. Progressive champions like Barbara Boxer and Patty Murray are under assault from the GOP. And EMILY's List is standing strong with them.

Now it's your turn to join us by making a contribution towards EMILY's List's goal of $125,000, which they must reach by September 24 to enact their victory plan!

Contribute today!
The brilliant political strategist who ran my campaign, Stephanie Schriock, is now the president of this proud organization, and so I know that EMILY's List will be running the best political program in the country.

They're combining state-of-the-art research and communications strategies with good old fashioned grassroots organizing to fight back against Republican attacks and get voters to the polls on election day.

But as smart as Stephanie and her team are, they can't do it without support. By which I mean money. They need to raise $125,000 by September 24, or risk leaving great candidates like Barbara and Patty on their own in the home stretch.

I can't imagine the Senate without Barbara Boxer and Patty Murray. And I don't want to. So I'm helping EMILY's List meet its goal -- and I hope you will, too.

Please click here to contribute -- every dollar makes a difference, but EMILY's List needs your most generous contribution by September 24!

I remember how hard I had to fight to win my Senate seat -- and I'll never forget that just a few votes made the difference. The same could be true this year in races across the country. You know how you always hear that one person's efforts could make the difference? Well, it's true. And that one person could be you.

Please support EMILY's List so that we can keep moving forward. And thanks for your help.

Sincerely,

Al Franken
