Dear Friends, 
In the days before the Primary election, I waged an aggressive, winning campaign, including a get out the vote and voter outreach effort that really made the difference.
This summer, my challenger who tried to defeat me last year in the General election and most recently in the Primary election is at it again. This is the same opponent who opposed me on the Republican and Conservative lines in February's special election and also opposed my brother, New York City Councilman Mark Weprin last summer in the Democratic Primary. He then also challenged him as a Republican in the General election.
If I raise enough funds, I will be able to deploy canvassers in the days before the general election to help identify voters and increase the vote in the neighborhoods where I traditionally do well. More funding also allows my campaign to connect with my voters by way of phone calls, handing out literature and going door to door to make the district aware of the important upcoming election. These additional steps are crucial.
