Ask yourself this: If you wake up on November 3 and read in the paper that Republicans have taken back Congress, will you wish you'd done more to stop them?
I witnessed it in 1994 when Republicans seized control of Congress and I want to be very clear about what we could lose if we don't move quickly now.
In the Senate, Barbara Boxer and Patty Murray -- two of the stars elected back in 1992 -- are at the top of the GOP's target list. If Barbara and Patty lose, it could well mean Republicans take the majority. In the House, the Republicans have put enough seats in play that we could be forced to watch Speaker Nancy Pelosi relinquish her gavel.
But it's not too late to turn things around if you make your voice heard in 2010. EMILY's List is working to prevent history from repeating itself -- and I'm asking you to join the fight. They are up against a deadline to fund their WOMEN VOTE! program and need your help to meet their goal.
EMILY's List has a simple formula for success to defend pro-choice Democratic women who are running across the country: help our women candidates build strong and well-funded grassroots campaigns, make sure that women voters show up at the polls to put them over the top, and help candidates fight back when Republicans are on the offensive.
But they need your help to put the formula into action.
