10/10/10

nyls_nyreblog_com_.gifNew York Law School is experiencing a period of tremendous success, and you can claim your piece of it.

On October 10, 2010, we will be kicking off the annual New York Law School Phonathon.  In honor of the fact that 10/10/10 happens only once every hundred years, we very much hope you will consider giving $10, or a multiple of $10 - perhaps $10 times the number of years since you graduated - or $100 representing 100 years, to support the Law School.  Every gift, no matter the size, increases the Law School's alumni participation rate, a most important factor in the prestige of the school.

Each gift supports the Annual Fund, and brings much needed support to:

·         Scholarships and Financial Aid

·         Faculty Hiring

·         Academic Program advancement

The Law School has had tremendous growth in recent years, and has risen to new heights.  Recent achievements include:

·         The completion of a new nine story state of the art academic building.

·         Two new LL.M. programs in Real Estate, and Financial Services, in addition to our well-regarded program in taxation.

·         Creation of the new Diane Abbey Law Center for Children and Families.

·         Incoming classes that are truly national and diverse: this year's class hails from 36 states, and 15 foreign countries.  Also, 30% of the class identifies as members of underrepresented minority groups, an increase of 8% from last year.

Calling will begin on October 10th, and continue through October 29th.  When a student calls please feel free to ask them any questions that are on your mind about the school.  Our student callers are looking forward to talking with you.  I want to thank you in advance for your time, and for considering making a gift to your alma mater, and thereby adding your name to the list of those who are making your Law School greater every day.

Warm regards,

Richard A. Matasar

Dean and President
