HOMELESSNESS
Seth Diamond
Commissioner, Department of Homeless Services
Seth Diamond has dedicated his career in New York City government to helping low income New Yorkers. Most recently, Mr. Diamond was appointed by Mayor Bloomberg to head the Department of Homeless Services in April of this year. Commissioner Diamond's philosophy is that the most effective route of return to the community is to gain and maintain employment.
Arnold S. Cohen
President & CEO, The Partnership for the Homeless
Arnold S. Cohen's 33-years in public service have led him to believe that the urban phenomenon of homelessness can be ended only when crisis-response policies that yet keep people economically and socially marginalized are changed to instead promote lasting prosperity. Under Mr. Cohen's leadership as President & CEO, The Partnership for the Homeless has adopted a strategic approach to ending homelessness that emphasizes evidence of what works to create scalable, lasting change, gained from research and evaluation of programs.
