FDA Webinar: Melamine--The Cause of the 2007 Pet Food Recall
Did you know FDA regulates the cans of cat food, bags of dog food, and boxes of pet treats in your pantry?
In March 2007, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) learned that some pet foods were making cats and dogs sick; in fact, many died. An investigation led FDA to discover contaminants that were imported into the United States and used as ingredients in pet food. Ultimately, investigators linked the melamine contamination to other products.
Hear FDA scientist Renate Reimschuessel talk about the investigation and how it revealed the harmful effects of melamine during a 30-minute webinar. After her presentation, Reimschuessel will respond to listeners' questions.
