It Just Doesn't Make Any Sense
Why would STATE SENATOR CRAIG JOHNSON vote with disgraced Senate leaders Espada, Smith and Sampson over 95% of the time? They are the ring leaders behind Albany's corrupt and dysfunctional leadership responsible for passing habitually late budgets full of tax increases and wasteful spending.
Just this past April, the New York Post reported that state and federal authorities uncovered an embezzlement scheme responsible for looting $14 million dollars from a government funded clinic. Who do you think was the mastermind behind it? It was State Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada. Now tell me, does it make any sense for STATE SENATOR CRAIG JOHNSON to support Espada and his ilk? And does it make sense to vote for the most expensive budget EVER totaling $135 billion of tax hikes and wasteful spending during a bad economy, Craig?
We all know someone who is affected by the bad economy. People are being laid off or working harder for less take-home pay. But Craig Johnson is not focused on fixing the economy. The amount of tax dollars diverted to wasteful projects has skyrocketed, and our property taxes and cost-of-living keeps rising while Albany's spending is out of control.
STATE SENATOR CRAIG JOHNSON should know better than to follow these leaders who are taking us away from the Common Sense Principles New York state was governed by until recently. Call him at (516) 746-5923 and (518) 455-2622 tell him he needs to speak up for Common Sense and stop voting against it!
Where's the Common Sense?
At Common Sense Principles, we've compiled a list of NONSENSE LEGISLATION that is harmful to New Yorkers and is, well, just plain nonsensical. From "The Sliced Bagel Tax" to legislation that mandates elephants be un-harnessed for at least one hour per day, this page will lead you to ask, "Are New York's legislators completely lacking in common sense?"
Join the Tax Revolt and fight back. It's time to educate people on how government has failed us, and advocate on the behalf of the principles and policies that will enable responsible government to return. We've come up with a list, inspired by Thomas Paine's prolific piece, Common Sense, that can get our government back on track.
There's a whole lot more...
