HE WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN

callahan_congress_banner_nyreblog_com_.jpgDear Lucas,

Thank you.

I am so proud of the work that we accomplished over the last year and a half. Together with your help, we fought to improve life for working families in the Lehigh Valley, we advocated an agenda of job creation and we stood up for the core principles that bring us together. For your support, my family and I are forever grateful.

While the outcome of the election was not what we expected or what we hoped for, the fight was worth fighting and looking back, I would do it all over again. We were swimming upstream the entire race. My goal this entire time was to know that once the polls closed on Tuesday that we had done all we could to win. We can all hold our heads high knowing that we did everything we could during the worst Republican wave since 1938.

I am grateful for the time you spent volunteering, the financial contributions you invested in our effort, and the faith you had in this campaign to move the Lehigh Valley forward.

Thank you for all you did for our community during this election. I am going to keep working to improve my hometown of Bethlehem as its Mayor and I hope you will continue to stand with me.

I've always believed that it doesn't matter how many times you get knocked down, what really matters is how many times you get back up.

With my deepest appreciation,
JohnCallahan
Mayor John Callahan
