I quickly wanted to share the news that the Democratic Caucus in the House of Representatives just finished the leadership elections for the 112th Congress. I'm honored to be reelected to serve as the Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus.
The leadership ranks for the next Congress will also include: The Honorable Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Leader; The Honorable Steny Hoyer, Democratic Whip; The Honorable James Clyburn, Assistant Democratic Leader; and The Honorable John Larson, Democratic Caucus Chair.
In my remarks to my colleagues I addressed the tough election cycle we all encountered, but stressed that I remain hopeful about our nation's future and our ability to confront the most difficult problems of our generation. I'm eager to tackle the hard work ahead that's needed to put America back on track and back to work.
