Dear Lucas,
Last night Democrat Mark Critz had a big win in a hard-fought special election in Pennsylvania - the only House district in the nation that voted for John Kerry in 2004 and John McCain in 2008. The lesson?
If we work hard, build a strong grassroots team, and fight back against the attacks from special interest groups, Democrats like Mark Schauer can win in tough districts this year. Will you help Mark hold this seat in November by making a contribution of $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford?
This election will be a choice between continuing to rebuild our economy or returning to the failed Bush economic policies that created this mess in the first place.
Make no mistake, extreme candidates like Tim Walberg want to pass more unfair trade deals that ship our jobs overseas, privatize Social Security, and put our natural resources at risk by letting big oil companies drill for oil in the Great Lakes.
We simply can't afford these dangerous policies - which is why we need to make sure Mark Schauer can keep fighting to get our economy back on track. Please help now by making a contribution of $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford.
The lesson from last night's special election couldn't be clearer. Democrats can win this year, and with your continued support, Mark can keep fighting to turn Michigan around one job at a time.
Thanks,
Andrew Piatt

Schauer for Congress
P.S.The pundits said to watch this election as a sign of things to come in November. Can you help us send a message to the Republicans that we know we can win in 2010 by making a contribution of $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford?
