Description & Details
The Field Director will develop a field plan in conjunction with the existing campaign team. The Field Director will then implement the field plan, and should be prepared to:
• Activate the existing volunteer base, recruiting new volunteers, and direct and manage the day-to-day operation of the volunteer staff and organizers.
• Oversee multiple regional field organizers.
• Responsible for activating existing volunteers, and recruiting and organizing new volunteers on a daily basis.
• Oversee volunteer phone bank and canvass activities
• Represent the campaign at community events, as well as staffing the candidate at times.
• Coordinate logistics of volunteer attended events .
• Work with the communications team to develop and implement a letter to the editor program.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
• Previous field organizing experience on a political campaign.
• Experience with VAN or a similar system.
• Ability to work long and irregular hours.
• Valid drivers license and car.
• Technical proficiency with new media outlets and Microsoft Word and Excel.
Timeline: April to November 2010
