BP MARKOWITZ, CONSUL GENERAL OF TURKEY HOST TURKISH CULTURAL CELEBRATION AT BOROUGH HALL

turks_boro_hall_brooklyn_2010_nyreblog_com_.JPGThursday, May 20, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and Consul General of Turkey Mehmet Samsar hosted an evening of food, wine and entertainment of Turkey at Borough Hall's sixth annual Turkish Cultural Celebration. Entertainment was provided by The Folk Dance Ensemble of Eskişehir Osmangazi University, the New York Gypsy All-Stars and the Historical Ottoman Marching Military Band (Mehter).

"Brooklyn is proud to be the Turkish Capital of New York City and all of America," said BP Markowitz. "We are proud home of America's largest Turkish population, and no community outside Turkey has a closer relationship with--or more respect for--Turkey than Brooklyn."
