NIAID researchers are looking for hepatitis C patients to help them better understand the effects of hepatitis disease on the immune system and to develop and evaluate new treatments and vaccines. The studies take place at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD.

Why Volunteer?

Worldwide, health experts estimate that 180 million people have chronic hepatitis C, with more than 4 million of those cases in the United States. By volunteering for a hepatitis C study, you can do the following:

  • Help people who are suffering from this chronic, life-threatening illness
  • Contribute to the advancement of medicine
  • Provide researchers with important scientific information in a safe and confidential environment

For more information about current NIAID viral hepatitis studies, see http://www.niaid.nih.gov/volunteer/hivandinfectious/viralhepatitisstudies/pages/default.aspx or email caldararor@mail.nih.gov .

The NIH Clinical Center is easily accessible by Metro. Study volunteers may be compensated for their time and travel.
