As one of Barbara Boxer's most steadfast supporters, you've known for a long time that we're facing a tough race this year. And the last few days gave us a preview of what the next few months could look like.
On Thursday, Republican candidate Carly Fiorina wrote a $1.1 million personal check to help fund her campaign. That brings her total contribution from her personal wealth to a whopping $3.6 million.
If Fiorina is the nominee, there could be a lot more where that came from, since official reports indicate her net worth could end up being as much as $119 million.
We've got to be ready for anything.
What's more, as another preview of things to come, all three of Barbara's opponents are running negative campaigns -- and they're all attacking Barbara already.
But it's not just the Senate candidates. Even the two Republicans running for governor, Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner, are contrasting themselves with Barbara in their TV ads.
This is just a taste of what will happen after the June 8 primary.
Why are they so eager to distort the Boxer record? Because they know Barbara Boxer has been effective at standing up against the right wing and delivering for the people of California.
They'll do anything to stop her.
We have to fight back.
I know how tough you are and how hard you'll fight to keep Barbara fighting for all of us in Washington, D.C.
That's why we launched our ambitious $100,000 fundraising goal for our May 19 deadline -- because we know we can count on you every step of the way.
Now we need your help to meet this crucial goal before we file our next official fundraising report.
Thank you so much for your incredible support of Barbara and her campaign.
Sincerely,
Rose Kapolczynski
Campaign Manager
