On Thursday, May 27, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and the Asian American Heritage Committee will host an evening of celebration to mark Asian Pacific-Islander Heritage Month. Brooklyn is home to one of the largest and fastest-growing Asian American communities in the country.

Several distinguished members of Brooklyn's Asian American community will be honored at the event, including Elizabeth R. OuYang, civil rights attorney (Humanitarian Award); Dae Kun Yoo, board member, Korean American Association of New York (Business Award); Amy Chan, president, Fook Funeral Group (Community Leadership Award); and Tony Wu, principal, P.S. 170 (Education Award).  

The presentation of honors in the Courtroom will be followed by a reception in the Rotunda.
