Score one for clean air!
Last Friday, the U.S. Senate put real people before corporate profits and voted down a measure from Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) to gut the Clean Air Act by weakening regulations that keep harmful pollution out of the air we all breathe.
Public Citizen activists from across the country contacted their senators and showed, once again, that citizen power can overcome the influence of corporate power among our elected officials. Thank you!
But the fight is not over.
Murkowski's attempt to make life easier for corporate polluters lost by a very slim 53 - 47 vote . Now some Democrats, led by Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-W.V.), have their own attack on the Clean Air Act lined up. (Stay tuned for alerts from us about that.)
Public Citizen won't back down from this fight against corporate polluters. And we know you won't back down either.
Make a contribution today to support Public Citizen and the fight against corporate power.
Together, we can make the politicians do what's right and we can protect the planet from corporate polluters.
Thanks for all you do,
