Brooklyn is proud home to the city's largest LGBT population.

BP Markowitz will recognize four individuals and organizations that have made strides to improve the lives of Brooklynites from all walks of life:

  • Cheryl Hall, Caribbean Women's Health Association
  • Thomas Krever, Hedrick-Martin Institute
  • Wendy Stark, Callen-Lourde Community Health Center
  • New York City Gay Men's Chorus (celebrating 30 years)

The rainbow flag will fly at Brooklyn Borough Hall and the building will be lit in celebration of gay pride. In addition, on Saturday, June 12, BP Markowitz's float will appear in the 14th annual Brooklyn LGBT Pride Night Parade, which kicks off at 7:30 pm on Fifth Avenue from 15th Street to Union Street. Earlier that day, at approximately 1:15 pm, BP Markowitz will present a proclamation to Brooklyn Pride.
