Dear Lucas, I wanted to make sure that you saw this story from POLITICO about the many women candidates fighting to bring reform to Albany in November: The Year of the Woman in NY: www.politico.com/news/stories/0710/39794.html In a state where women make up 52% of the population, it's shameful that only 16% of our state senators are women. This year, we are running 10 strong women candidates who are fighting to reform Albany. If every one of these candidates won their race, we would double the number of women in the state senate. Can you contribute $250, $100 or $50 to support the women fighting to reform Albany? As Susan Savage, the Democratic challenger to Senator Hugh Farley said, "you can't change Albany until you change the people you send to Albany." With your help, we will elect a new class of Senators who will change the way Albany does business, and ensure that all New Yorkers are fairly represented in government. Your contribution of $50, $100 or $250 will help elect women reformers to the New York State Senate. This election cycle gives us a unique opportunity to fundamentally alter the makeup of the State Senate. I hope you won't let that opportunity slip away. With your support, 2010 will truly be "the year of the woman" in New York. Regards, |
