Dear Lucas,
The numbers are in. Our first filing deadline is here, and we haven't just met our fundraising goal--we passed it. Together, we've already achieved so much. And I can't tell you how grateful I am to have your support.
Here's what the Wall Street Journal said on Tuesday:
"Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer wins the race for collecting the most money in the first filing period of the 2013 cycle. Mr. Stringer is the only potential mayoral contender who worked aggressively to raise money in the past six months."
The Journal didn't cite exact figures. But I want to let you know our real numbers, before the press reports on them later today.
With the help of nearly 1,000 contributors, we raised $674,758.30.
And do you know how we did it? By going across this city, from living room to living room, talking to people about their hopes for the city, and getting hundreds of new supporters involved in the conversation about New York's future.
Our grassroots campaign is growing one donor at time, block by block, borough by borough. And the best part is that I get to talk to so many different New Yorkers about the issues they care about.
We'll work with you on every step of hosting your own party. Join us today and sign up.
This is our moment--and it's just the beginning. As our momentum continues to build and we look towards 2013, it's all of you that our going to make this campaign possible.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Scott Stringer
