ANNA LEWIS FILES 11,000 PETITION SIGNATURES FOR STATE SENATE
Candidate Shows Strong Grassroots Support Throughout the 31st Senate District
Anna Lewis, Attorney, and Candidate for State Senate in New York's 31st District, has collected and filed in excess of 11,000 petition signatures on behalf of her campaign, more than 11 times the amount required to qualify as a candidate on the Democratic Party ballot.
Speaking at a fundraiser on Wednesday night, Lewis remarked, "Our campaign is filing over 11,000 petition signatures tomorrow night, and I am proud to say that our message is clearly resonating with voters in all parts of the District who want to see reform in Albany and change for New York."
Lewis, who was removed from the ballot last year in her candidacy for Civil Court Judge, told supporters that she was committed to running a campaign focused on her continuous interaction with the constituents of the 31st District, in a effort to share her ideas and gain support for her candidacy.
"I want voters to know that when it comes to fixing our economy, balancing our budget, and reforming our State, I will be on their side fighting for a better future," Lewis continued, "This is just the beginning of that journey."
Lewis then expressed that her campaign would now be able to better focus on fundraising. "I think people wanted to know that our campaign would not be a repeat of last year's, and clearly it is not. We're acutely focused on victory." The candidate has 8 fundraisers scheduled in the upcoming weeks.
Anna Lewis, an Attorney for 26 years, has served as Lead Counsel to the New York State Assembly's Committee on Oversight, Analysis and Investigation, an Assistant Chief Administrative Law Judge with the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission, and is currently a prosecutor with New York State's Health Department, where she prosecutes physicians and physician assistants for professional misconduct, including cases involving insurance fraud, negligence and the sexual abuse of patients.
She is a 25 year resident of the Upper West Side.
