Chung-Wha Hong, an immigrant advocate for over 20 years, will speak about the landscape of immigration reform, its impact on New York City, and the current issues facing the immigrant community. After arriving at the New York Immigration Coalition Ms. Hong organized one of the largest rallies in New York history, bringing over 300,000 people together to march for immigration reform in New York City. Ms. Hong has been identified as one of the city's most influential immigration advocates by Crain's and New York Magazine. She serves on CU's board and Municipal Affairs Committee, where she provides valuable input on a range of issues, including education and voting rights.
