COMPTROLLER LIU TO HOST "LAS OCTAVITAS" CELEBRATION
NEW YORK, NY - New York City Comptroller John C. Liu, Councilmember Melissa Mark-Viverito and Yolanda Sanchez of the Puerto Rican Association for Community Affairs will co-host "Las Octavitas", traditionally celebrated in the Puerto Rican community to mark the eight days following the Feast of the Epiphany and the three wise men who visited the Christ child.
The program will include traditional Puerto Rican food and a live musical performance. The evening will feature a special tribute to Lillian Jiménez, acclaimed producer and veteran of the independent film industry.
