Larry King

In 1987, Larry King underwent successful quintuple bypass heart surgery. Larry's hospital bills were covered by insurance but he quickly realized others were not so lucky. The Larry King Cardiac Foundation was founded with a mission to provide funding for life-saving treatment to those who due to limited means or no insurance, would otherwise be unable to receive the treatment and care they so desperately need.


Tim Gunn

While better known for his roles as a fashion expert and co-host of Lifetime's Project Runway, design guru, author, and fashion advisor, Tim Gunn is also a champion for women's heart health. Recently he has dedicated his talent and time to making heart health fashionable and encouraging women to make their health a priority. Gunn has recently teamed up with Campbell Soup Company to help raise awareness among women in the fight against heart disease.


Jennie Garth - Red Heart Award

Jennie Garth serves as a National Spokesperson for the American Heart Association, working to raise awareness not only on heart disease, but preventive measures to reduce risk factors. Jennie's dedication to a healthy heart is crucial to women worldwide as heart disease is the number one cause of death amongst women. Jennie continues to contribute her time through numerous national media outlets. Jennie skyrocketed to stardom with her role as Kelly Taylor on Beverly Hills, 90210. The show became a ratings juggernaut, lasting 10 seasons, and remains one of the most successful television series produced.

Mary J Blige

Blige has won nine Grammy Awards and sold over 65 million records worldwide. Winner of the World Music Legends Award for combining Hip-Hop and Soul like no other in the early 90's. Known to the world as "The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul".


Colbie Caillat

Hit singles "Bubbly", "Realize", and "The Little Things". Caillat released her second album, Breakthrough, in August 2009 which was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 52nd Grammy Awards.


Anthony Hamilton

Grammy Award Winning American, R&B, Soul and neo soul singer-songwriter. Anthony is nominated for 3 Grammy's this year. Last year, Anthony won a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance. He is most noted for his smooth, soulful, retro vocal style.

Jane Chesnutt

Woman's Day is proud to honor Jane Chesnutt with the Legendary Heart Award. Jane's continued dedication to women's heart heath has defined Woman's Day's footprint in the fight against heart disease. Jane's accomplishments include serving as an inaugural member the American Heart Association's Commission of the Leadership Advisory Group on Women and Heart Disease, Co-founder of the annual "Women with Heart" luncheon in New York City, AHA's 2009 Women with Heart Honoree and 1996 recipient of the Headliner Award from Women in Communications, Inc.


Suzanne Haynes, PhD

For the past five years, Dr. Haynes has led the Office on Women's Health Cardiovascular Team, which funds the Heart Truth Champions program as well as Heart Truth events across the nation. She initiated the Heart Truth Professional Education Program, which educates physicians about how to spot heart disease symptoms in women.


Kathy Kastan

Kastan is the past president of the board of directors of WomenHeart, a national organization aimed at preventing heart disease in women and reducing death and disability among women living with heart disease. Also a national spokeswoman for the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's Heart Truth Campaign, she has a unique perspective: She herself survived bypass surgery at age 42.


Julia Kauffman

The Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation, which Julia heads, established the Muriel I. Kauffman Women's Heart Center in Kansas City, the first of its kind in the U.S. to focus on heart disease in women. The foundation's continual support of the Center has enabled it to help spread awareness of how heart disease affects women and fund groundbreaking research while providing top-notch cardiac care. To this end, Kauffman recently created the Julia Irene Kauffman Endowed Chair for Women's Cardiovascular Health.


Karol Watson, MD

The many prestigious positions Dr. Watson holds keep her in the thick of heart disease awareness and prevention. She's an assistant professor of medicine in UCLA's Division of Cardiology, on the executive committee for the UCLA Fellowship Program in Cardiovascular Diseases, codirector of UCLA's Program in Preventive Cardiology, director of its Center for Cholesterol and Hypertension Management, and a practicing cardiologist.
