Borrowing on the "Year of the Tiger" theme, the McManus Midtown Democratic Association has sent out a membership solicitation form inviting people to become a 2010 "McManus Tiger."
The letter reads (in part):
In honor of the Chinese Calendar and of our club's beloved mascot, the Tammany Tiger, the new year brings new opportunities: To fight like a tiger for you and for the neighborhood; to be courageous by taking on tough issues; and most importantly, to be gracious by helping our neighbors in need.
Membership levels start at a modest $10 for seniors and students. $30 for "Regular Members" and $60 for "Sustaining Members."
