Prime Minister Netanyahu to Address JNF Conference Call
On Thursday, December 9 at 12 noon EST, JNF will host a conference call to bring you up to date on the current state of the Carmel Region after last week's devastating fires and the many ways that you can help. We are honored and privileged that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will give a summary of what transpired, how the relief effort is taking shape, and what the road to recovery looks like. You will also hear from from: Israel's Fire Commissioner Shimon Romach, who will give a briefing on the extent of the damage and what the Fire Department needs from JNF donors. JNF CEO Russell Robinson and VP of Campaign Marc Kelman who were in Israel for two days and assessed the damage and the needs by helicopter and then held a "Thank You" luncheon at Atlit for over 200 firefighters. World Chairman of KKL Efi Stenzler, who will discuss the hand that KKL-JNF had in fighting the fires and the course of action moving forward with Operation Carmel Renewal: From Black to Green. JNF Launches Operation Carmel Renewal: From Black to Green The fires in the Carmel Mountains, the worst in Israel's history, have been contained but the road to recovery has just begun. Losses have been devastating. Forty-two people have died and more than 12,500 acres of forests destroyed. JNF foresters estimate that over 5 million trees were burned.
