WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER SOAP OPERA

JOYCE JOHNSON COMMENTS ON CHARGES BROUGHT BY CONGRESSIONAL PANEL AGAINST CONGRESSMAN RANGEL

After a careful review of the charges brought by a bi-partisan Congressional panel against incumbent Congressman Charles Rangel, Joyce Johnson, Democratic Candidate for Congress in the 15th Congressional District, today released a statement: 

"The charges against Charlie Rangel, and the spectacle that surrounds them, are damaging his credibility, and he alone must tackle the issue. He must quickly decide if he can competently navigate his duties as a congressional leader, and continue to serve his constituents effectively. It's a shame this crisis has become so terribly public."

"The residents of upper Manhattan deserve a full time public servant who wants to address the issues of better jobs, affordable housing, education, health care and a improved quality of life. The American public doesn't need another television soap opera about dysfunctional government. We need to focus on the future."
