Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell announced a schedule of free admission days to many of the lands managed by the Department of the Interior (DOI) and the U.S. Forest Service (FS) . These fee waivers are offered under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (REA) . All national forests , national parks , national wildlife refuges , and many areas managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will offer free admission on the following days:
- August 14 through 15, 2010
- September 25, 2010 ( Public Lands Day )
- November 11, 2010 (Veterans Day)
Please note: The fee-free waiver does not include fees collected in advance or by contractors, such as fees charged for camping , reservations and use of concessions.
