MARTY REDEDICATES JFK'S BUST

BP MARKOWITZ ON HAND FOR REDEDICATION OF JFK BUST AT GRAND ARMY PLAZA

marty_markowitz_jfk_bust_0810_nyreblog_com_.JPGOn Tuesday, August 24, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz joined elected officials and sculptor Neil Estern for the rededication of Estern's John F. Kennedy bust at Grand Army Plaza. The original bust of President Kennedy was unveiled in 1965 and remained in place until 2002, when a major restoration of the Plaza began. With the installation of a new, granite pedestal for the monument, Mr. Estern re-sculpted the bust, which was recast in bronze.
