marty_helping_pakistan_0810_photo_nyreblog_com_.JPGOn Wednesday, August 25, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz joined the Consul General of Pakistan in New York, members of the Pakistani and Arab American communities and elected officials to urge Brooklynites and all New Yorkers to generously support flooding relief efforts in Pakistan

"For many Americans, this crisis may seem far away and far removed from their daily lives, but in Brooklyn, home to the largest Pakistani community in the country, it affects us deeply," said BP Markowitz. "As we all know, it's traditional to give charity during Ramadan, so there is not better time to dig deep and give what you can."
