Subject: Congressman Arcuri - Need Volunteers

Congressman Arcuri likely spoke with your boss this week about the work we're doing to create a new ballot line for him to run on this fall. With our opponent on the Republican, Conservative, and Independence Party lines, we need to pick up a second line to better position ourselves for re-election.

Here's the thing: we have just 3 weeks to collect 7,000 signatures to make this happen and we need all the help we can get. We're hoping some of your offices might be able to send along a volunteer or two to help us get this done.

We're collecting signatures from now through August 16th. The volunteers must be registered to vote in New York State and if they are willing to come up for a few days, we will find them a place to stay in the district. Cars are important in our sprawling 11 county district, but if someone who doesn't have a car wants to come up, we'll figure out how to make it work.

We know it might seem like an odd endeavor - going after an independent ballot line, but in an election as close as this one could be, an additional ballot line can really make the difference.
