Dear Lucas,
The political attacks have begun and, like we all predicted, they are aimed squarely at the only true reformer in this race: Kathleen Rice.
As Kathleen's rivals have become increasingly desperate and cognizant of Kathleen's status as the strongest candidate for attorney general, our campaign has fended off scores of false accusations, distortions and smear tactics that do nothing but energize Kathleen and prove to New Yorkers which candidate is winning and which candidates are losing.
Kathleen is ready for the fight.
But she needs your help - your financial support - to make it past the finish line first. Please be a part of this movement by donating to the campaign or volunteering some of your time between now and Primary Day, Sept. 14.
As the only candidate in this race who's run a law enforcement agency, who has managed an office of hundreds of public interest lawyers and who's prosecuted corruption in government , New Yorkers are embracing Kathleen's candidacy. Unfortunately, our politically connected opponents are pulling out every dirty trick in the book to try and stop that momentum.
They've clearly underestimated Kathleen's determination and toughness. As she puts it when asked on the campaign trail how it feels being the recipient of so many attacks, "I grew up with nine brothers and sisters. This is nothing."
With our candidate working tirelessly on the campaign trail , our campaign is moving into high gear this week. Today, our second television ad, "Life," hits NYC airwaves (it's been airing upstate since Thursday), providing New Yorkers valuable insight into Kathleen's plans to clean up Albany and target corruption in state and local government.
Get ready for an exciting week on the campaign trail and stay tuned for further announcements as we continue to build our unparalleled grassroots network of supporters. We need your help now more than ever.
Kathleen's energy on the campaign trail is at an all-time high and we are confident that with your support over the next three weeks, we will be celebrating on primary night!
Best,
Jeffrey Stein
