On Tuesday, April 13, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and the Brooklyn Jewish Heritage Committee will host the Brooklyn Jewish Heritage Night Salute to Israel ceremony and reception at Brooklyn Borough Hall. 

Special presentations will be made to this year's event honorees:  

  • Douglas Balin, LMSW (Hessed Award)
  • Ari Goldstein, EMTP (Pikuach Nefesh Award)
  • Rabbi Hailu Paris (Kiruv Award)
  • Masbia (Community Service Award)
  • HASC Center (Jewish Heritage Service Award)

The Student Holocaust Memorial Competition winners for 2010 will also be honored.

Rabbi Joseph Potasnik, executive vice president, New York Board of Rabbis, will serve as master of ceremonies and deliver the keynote address. A reception will follow in the Rotunda.
