Dear Lucas,
Eight years ago tomorrow, an upstart City Council candidate stood up to the special interests and the political machine to win an improbable victory.
Once again, in five days, that same candidate has an opportunity to prove the naysayers wrong, to ensure that the special interests do not retain a stranglehold on our government, and to demonstrate that sometimes nice guys do finish first.
Over the last nine days, we have built an operation that we know will pull every last David Yassky voter to the polls on election day. During that time, we have knocked on more than 25,000 doors and made more than 60,000 phone calls in all five boroughs. Our field team knows how to generate results.
But to win on Tuesday, we need your help. Our goal is to have 1000 volunteers knocking on doors and making phone calls to remind people about the runoff. If we meet our goal, we can knock on--get this--the doors of 50,000 identified Yassky voters 3 different times on election day. In addition, we can exceed 180,000 phone calls reminding our supporters to go vote.
Please consider taking all day Tuesday off. If you can't please consider volunteering for at least three hours at any point during the day. You can sign up to volunteer on election day by clicking here . We will have multiple locations to work in all five boroughs.
On Tuesday, join our team , and be a part of a great victory.
