Earth Rise is a weekly gathering for those with a strong connection to nature and the environment. Earth Rise is led by NYSEC Leader Curt Collier and uses music and art, discussion, and contemplation, to teach us new ways to deepen our connection to the environment, walk more gently on the Earth, and bring out the best in ourselves and in others. Participants also engage in environmental action projects including community gardening, habitat restoration, and community supported agriculture. As an Ethical Culture program, Earth Rise is humanist and nontheistic in tradition. We find our strength in relationships with others and our place in community. We celebrate the unique qualities of each individual, knowing that life flourishes through diversity, and that the wider our circle of friends, the greater our opportunity for self-discovery.
