Kareem was charged as a juvenile delinquent for crimes which, if committed by an adult, would have constituted first degree rape and sexual abuse.
Although he admitted his guilt to officers, the kid later sought to prevent those statements from being introduced at his trial.
After the New York County Family Court denied his request, found him to be a delinquent, and placed Kareem with the Office of Children and Family Services for up to 18 months, he appealed to the Appellate Division, First Department.
Since his statements were voluntarily made and the officer's conduct wasn't unduly coercive, the AD1 affirmed the outcome.
Kareem got creamed.
