MICAH KELLNER'S WISH LIST

kellner_assembly_banner_nyreblog_com_.gifDear Friends:

kellner.jpgI know that you have been inundated with direct mail, robo-calls and t.v. commercials--well it's finally time to vote! This year there are a throng of good candidates running for office.  Below are the candidates I'm supporting and the reasons why.  I hope you will consider voting for them, but more importantly, I just ask that you get out and vote.  It is important to the vitality of our city. Don't know your polling place? Click here to visit the NYC Board of Elections website and look up your poll site . The polls are open on Tuesday, September 15th, from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm.

William C. Thompson for Mayor
I have had the honor of working for Bill Thompson, so I know the love he has for our great city.  As Comptroller he extended the power of that office in progressive new directions and made it relevant to every New Yorker.  As Mayor, Bill will put the middle class first to ensure our city moves forward.  www.Thompson2009.com

John Liu for City Comptroller
I have worked closely with John Liu on issues of transportation accessibility, in his role as chair of the City Council Transportation Committee.  He has been a leader in the fight to make our taxi fleet 100% wheelchair accessible.  I have seen first hand the skills and passion that will make him a great City Comptroller.  Before being elected to the City Council in 2001, John worked as a manager at the financial consulting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers.  His financial expertise has helped the city root out waste in government and to expose and correct fiscal mismanagement in city agencies like the MTA, the Department of Transpotration, and the Taxi and Limousine Commission, saving taxpayers millions of dollars.   This is why he is the preferred candidate of Citizens Union.  www.LiuforNewYork.com

Bill de Blasio for Public Advocate
Bill has served in the New York City Council from Brooklyn since 2001 and is the chair of its General Welfare Committee. He has worked to prevent discrimination against those seeking affordable housing and to increase funding to protect at-risk children. Prior to his election to the Council, he served as Hillary Clinton's 2000 Senate campaign manager and the regional director for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. He has been endorsed by The New York Times, Our Town, Gay City News, and the Jewish Press.  Bill will breathe much needed new life into the Public Advocate's office.  www.BilldeBlasio.com

Leslie Crocker Snyder for Manhattan District Attorney
I am supporting Leslie because she is a groundbreaking woman, who has spent 35 years protecting New Yorkers.  As Assistant District Attorney, Leslie was the first woman in the Manhattan DA's office to try felony and homicide cases.  She founded our country's first Sex Crimes Prosecution Bureau and co-authored New York's Rape Shield Law. As a judge for two decades she oversaw the trials of some New York's worst criminals. Leslie is the progressive voice Manhattan needs in the DA's office, that's why she is the preferred candidate of Citizens Union. For more than ten years she fought for the reform of the antiquated Rockefeller Drug Laws, and after Hurricane Katrina, she spent six months in the New Orleans criminal justice system helping those displaced by the disaster. I have worked closely with Leslie and know she will make the best District Attorney for Manhattan. www.SnyderforDA.com

All the Best,

Micah Z. Kellner
