Dear Friend,
This just in...
On the eve of the Primary Election, John Liu maintains his lead in the race for Comptroller with 37% of the vote -- up three points from last Friday's poll. According to a WABC-TV/SurveyUSA poll released today:
"The Democratic battle for NYC Comptroller ends with John Liu at 37% and consolidating support."
We are on target to reach the 40% threshold needed to avoid a runoff... and it's all because of you!
Our campaign has been based on John's record of rooting out waste and abuse in government, his fiscal expertise as a pension actuary, and his vision for building our City's infrastructure, creating jobs, protecting the pensions of working men and women and making the Office of Comptroller work for communities throughout New York City.
Our message is resonating: from clergy leaders to teachers, social workers to hospital workers, Citizens Union to the Tenants PAC, the Amsterdam News and El Diario La Prensa to Novoye Russkoye Slovo and the Indian Panorama, John is being held as the right leader to get New York's economy back on track.
Polls open tomorrow, Tuesday, September 15th, at 6:00AM and close at 9:00PM.

Liu is up 3 points over the weekend, up 12 points over the past 12 days. 12% of SurveyUSA's likely voters are undecided, and when those are factored into the candidates' totals, Liu has a chance to top the 40% threshold needed to avoid a 09/30/09 runoff. Liu's fellow city council members David Yassky and Melinda Katz tie for a distant second place. SurveyUSA's exclusive interactive tracking graphs highlight Liu's rise among middle-income voters and among voters in Queens.
