On Thursday, November 19, the Assembly Task Force on People with Disabilities will be hosting its first public hearing since Assemblyman Bing was appointed to chair the Task Force in June. The hearing will focus on the problems that people with disabilities face in locating and paying for affordable housing in New York City. The hearing will be conducted in conjunction with the Assembly Committee on Housing chaired by Assemblyman Vito Lopez.

Assemblyman Bing is a member of the Assembly Housing Committee and former chair of its Mitchell-Lama Housing Subcommittee. He is the author of A. 7179, legislation sponsored by 39 colleagues that has previously passed the Assembly which would expand the scope of the Disabled Rent Increase Exemption Program (DRIE) for rent-regulated housing.

Please contact Assemblyman Bing's District Office at (212) 605-0937 or bingj@assembly.state.ny.us if you would like to receive a hearing notice when it becomes available.
