LISYANSKIY WITHDRAWS FROM CITY COUNCIL RACE

Dear Supporters and Friends,

I am sure that by now you have become aware of the change in the term limits law that was championed by the Mayor and enacted by the New York City Council this past year.  This recent change in the law allows current members of the City Council to extend their time in office and to campaign for a third term.  Previously, the law had a two-term limit for office of a Councilmember.

Due to this change in circumstances, I have decided to close my campaign for office of Councilmember in the 47th Council District. I plan to fully support my good friend and our current Councilmember, Domenic M. Recchia Jr., for re-election in the upcoming primary and general elections this year.  I strongly urge you to do the same.

While I have decided to close my campaign for this election, that does not mean that I have stopped running for this office!  I will be a candidate for office in 2013! I will continue to work with the community on all of the issues that affect our standard of living, quality of life, and the delivery of services and benefits that our community needs and deserves.  My service on Community Board #13 will enable me to stay abreast of the developments that occur in our council district. I will contribute to the discussions and press to ensure that the best results are attained.

I want to thank you for your support, contributions and faith in believing that I will be the best person to carry on the good work and agenda that Councilmember Recchia has initiated.  In 2013, we will prevail and continue to make the 47th Council District the best in Brooklyn and in New York City.

Sincerely,

John Lisyanskiy
