2009 RGB Roundtable Discussion Dinner
Last year, owners came out in record numbers to testify at the Rent Guidelines Board Public Hearings and their message was clear. Years of inadequate guidelines threaten to drive many owners of affordable housing out of business.
The RGB responded by adopting a minimum rent adjustment of $45 for a one-year lease and $85 for a two-year lease as part of the final guideline. However, the minimum rent adjustment only benefitted owners who had leases that were up for renewal during last year's guideline period.
The RGB needs to hear from owners again this year about how important it is to enact a minimum rent adjustment.
You can help make the difference.
The ability for owners, like you, to meet the rise in property taxes, water and sewer rates and other operating cost increases depends on your participation. TESTIFY at an upcoming Rent Guidelines Public Hearing. To prepare, RSA Members are invited to attend our Roundtable Discussion & Dinner where experienced RSA Staff will be on hand answer any questions you may have. RSA staff will work with you to prepare testimony.
