About Lisa Ellis
Lisa Ellis is the former executive vice president of the Sony Music Label Group. She previously served as president of Sony Urban Music and before that as Sony Urban Music's general manager. This past December, Ms. Ellis joined Fireman Capital Partners as a Founding Operating Partner, and her focus at the investment firm will be on music and entertainment. Ranked Number 3 in Billboard's "2007 Most Influential Women in Music," Ms. Ellis has been an instrumental part of the development, planning and branding of such artists as: Prince, Maxwell, Destiny's Child, Beyoncé, The Fugees, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, John Legend, Nas, and Terrence Howard. She continues her role in the music business as an entrepreneur, and has recently founded Carnival House Recordings with partner Wyclef Jean.
