GIOIA'S ONLY ASKING FOR A 10-SPOT

Here's an e-mail we received from the Gioia campaign:

gioia_banner_nyreblog_com_.gifDear Lucas,

Greetings!

As the city digs its way out of a classic late winter snow storm, we wanted to let you know about a series of events we're holding next week to support Councilman Eric Gioia's campaign for New York City Public Advocate and to help spread good cheer as we anxiously wait for spring to finally arrive:

* Happy Hour in Greenwich Village - Monday, March 9th, 5:00 - 6:30pm

* Enclosed Rooftop Party on the Upper East Side - Monday, March 9th, 6:30 - 8:30pm

* Women's Committee Breakfast at a Midtown Law Firm - Wednesday, March 11th, 8:30 - 9:30am

* St. Patrick's Day Party with special guest Congressman Joseph Crowley at Donovan's in Woodside, Queens - Thursday, March 12th, 5:30 - 7:30pm

We hope to see you at one or all of the above!  Feel free to invite your friends, family and coworkers -  we'd like them to get to know Eric, learn more about his campaign for Public Advocate, and hear his vision for New York City

Eric is committed to opening up the political process, so there is no minimum ticket price to attend any of his events - give whatever you can, even $10.  Because the city matches all contributions up to $175 with a 6-to-1 bonus, every contribution makes a big difference: for instance, a $50 contribution turns into $350.

Please sign up for any event and contribute online today.

The St. Patrick's Day Party and Women's Committee Breakfast invitations are below, and you can sign-up for any other event by giving us a ring at 212.370.0700, or by emailing us at teamgioia@ericgioia.com .  The best way to contribute is to do so online at www.ericgioia.com .

Eric is running for Public Advocate to make New York's government cost less and work better.  He recently conducted an investigation that found several city agencies were leaving the lights on in their office buildings all night , while New York spends approximately $1 billion each year in energy costs. In response, Eric has proposed that we conduct energy audits on all city buildings to conserve energy, save money, and reduce our carbon footprint.

If you have any ideas about other ways the city can save money and protect the environment, or other things that Eric should be working on, please don't hesitate to let us know by calling 212.370.0700 or by emailing teamgioia@ericgioia.com .  You can also sign up to volunteer , and keep updated on everything Eric is working on by following him on facebook or twitter .

Thanks for your support, and look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

Team Gioia
