Dear Lucas,

I had to write you personally to express my deep thanks for all of your support - I am awed and humbled by the thousands of people from across the city who have given their time, money and ideas to allow us to reach this point.

Thanks to you, we are running the biggest grassroots campaign in the city's history, and we're just getting warmed up.  In the weeks and months to come, we'll be knocking on doors, making phone calls, and speaking with New Yorkers in all five boroughs about how we can work together to create positive changes for our city.  And after exceeding our goals again this past fundraising period, I'm proud that our most common contribution remains $10, and we're now poised to reach $4 million raised and four thousand contributors!

I'm running for Public Advocate to ensure that every New Yorker has a voice, and an advocate, in City Hall.  But to change government, we need to first change the way campaigns are run.  That's why there's no minimum contribution for any of my events, and we'll bring the same spirit of openness and accessibility to the Public Advocate's office that we've demonstrated across the city.

We still have a long way to go, and I'll continue to need your help.  Please save the date for my birthday party on April 30th - I'd love to see you there.  And please consider taking an afternoon, evening, or weekend to help volunteer - just give us a call at 212.370.0700 or sign up online at www.ericgioia.com to get involved.

Thank you again for all your support. I look forward to working with you over the next six months, and the next four years, to make New York a better place to live, work, and raise a family.

Sincerely,

Eric
