Broadway Democrats is as active as ever and we need your help so that we may continue to champion the Democratic agenda for justice and prosperity for all New Yorkers. On Sunday, April 19, 2009, Broadway Democrats will host its annual Spring Fling, at the popular Upper West Side restaurant, 107 West. 2787 Broadway, between 106th and 107th Streets, from 1:00-4:00 pm.
The year, Broadway Democrats will honor one individual, New York State Senator Eric Schneiderman, and one organization the Grannies Peace Brigade, that have had real effect on our lives. The club will present its Annual Award to Eric Schneiderman for the his work in helping to take back the State Senate, as well as the continued progressive leadership that he has provided us. The Club will present the Ida and Jesse Frankel Community Service Award to the Grannies Peace Brigade, including Upper West Side residents, Joan Wile, Lillian Rydell, and Maria Runyon, for their inspiring and courageous efforts to bring about an end to the Iraq War.
We are very proud of our own efforts last year as we collaborated in the 2008 Democratic Victory Storefront where we made thousands of phone calls and many trips on behalf of President Obama and candidates for Congress throughout the country. We hope that you can attend our benefit in order to support all of the upcoming work we will be doing on the 2009 campaigns in order to support Democratic candidates who will move New York and the nation forward.
2009 promises to be a remarkable year for Democrats in New York, and around the country. We hope that you will take this opportunity to contribute to the success of this event as:
