Here's a copy of an e-mail we received from Richard Aborn, candidate for Manhattan District Attorney :

What a week! I am excited to announce two important pieces
of news as Richard Aborn's campaign for Manhattan DA
continues to gain momentum.
continues to gain momentum.
This morning, we announced the endorsement of former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton, the man who pioneered CompStat in the early 1990s.
"I'm supporting Richard Aborn for D.A. because I know he will keep New York safe," Commissioner Bratton said.
And yesterday, the Daily News' Daily Politics Blog - one of the most important news sources in the New York political world - broke the story that our campaign hired Morgenthau's pollster, Matthew Shelter of Boston-based Kiley and Company to do our polling. Shelter and his company have worked on many New York races in addition to the Morgenthau race.
"Richard has devoted his career to innovative ways of fighting crime -- the right way. He knows what works, and knows what doesn't. From using technology to make crime fighting much more effective to working constructively with law enforcement to make sure that we do our job as well as we can, Richard is a proven crimefighter and outstanding leader."
We'll be rolling out more endorsements in the coming days and weeks, as more and more people in Manhattan recognize that Richard Aborn will be a different kind of DA, a proven crimefighter and true progressive.
I look forward to meeting you all soon. If you have ideas about the campaign, or want to volunteer, please email me at mrabinowitz@abornforda.com . And, of course, we still need to raise money, so please consider contributing here .
