Yiddishfest 2009

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

7:00 p.m.

Continuing its 40 year tradition of producing large-scale Jewish music festivals in the parks of New York, The Workmen's Circle/Arbeter Ring will present a glittering concert starring three icons of Jewish music, David Krakauer's Klezmer Madness with DJ Socalled, Mike Burstyn, and Pharaoh's Daughter.

The free concert will feature a fusion of sounds from klezmer genius and clarinet virtuoso David Krakauer's Klezmer Madness with DJ Socalled, and Broadway and Yiddish Theater star Mike Burstyn, to the popular world-beat groove band Pharaoh's Daughter in a program that will celebrate the diverse musical styles inspired by the great Yiddish culture of Eastern European Jewry.
