AMERICAN INSTITUTE FOR STUTTERING TREATMENT
3rd Annual Benefit Gala
June 8, 2009
Maintaining our tradition, AIS will hold it's Third Annual Benefit Gala on Monday, June 8th at the Tribeca Rooftop in downtown Manhattan. The evening will be hosted by a good friend of AIS, Sam Waterston, star of TV's Law and Order, and will honor Joe Moglia, Chairman of TD Ameritrade and British actress, Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada). Both honorees have personally dealt with stuttering. Susan Glessner and Seth H. Waugh, CEO, Deutsche Bank Americas are serving as Co-Chairs for the event.
We look forward to the positive messages that comes from the evening that was so poignantly spoken about at last year's gala by Honoree, then-Senator Joe Biden. "In my darkest days I would not trade my stuttering for what it's taught me and what it's made me. It's been the single most beneficial thing that's ever happened to me... having overcome it." It is so inspiring to know that the debilitating effects of stuttering can be overcome as is represented by our 2009 Honorees.
